Just a few of questions. I have been in the Army for 17 years and I am stationed in Germany. How do I find info on joining while overseas? And second, I am currently in Iraq until on or about Summer 2009. Is there anything that can be done while deployed or is it strictly in garrison? And finally, is 35 years old to old to go through? I appreciate any info you may be able to provide. Thanks in advance.

I'm really not sure if there are any Lodges in Iraq , if Cemb4y drops in he can answer that question for you seeing how he is over there now . I know there are lodges in Germany though . No , 35 is not too old . You will see quit a few petition a lodge in their 40's and 50's because some wait till they are retired to join the Fraternity . We have Initiated men in there 60's .

Thank you for the quick response Ashlar521. I will look forward to hearing from any one for guidance. I have dwelled on this idea for about 14 years and I think I am at the point in my life where my family life is great, work is great and now I am looking into a Brotherhood to help me continue to grow.
Thanks again. |

To answer your questions, yes there are several lodges in Iraq, for the most part to the best of my knowledge they are Prince Hall Lodges though. Depending on where you are in Iraq I know for sure that Texas and Oklahoma Jurisdictions have a strong presence there. Also, where exactly are you stationed in Germany? I can tell you from experience that no matter what instillation that you are on there are Masons there. Stay safe and keep your head down. Thanks for the reply. I am stationed in Baumholder, but currently in Baghdad. And I wish I could be back in Baumholder right now if you could believe that. Thanks again for the post. |
