an individual petitioning a lodge should never make it to that point. There is ample time for the objection to be addressed. If it does come to that point, discussion should ensue prior to balloting.

Absolutely. And, if by some chance you have ever been in a vote that has ended in black ball, you will notice how very uncomfortable it feels.

Since I've been in I've never seen in it my Lodge because, like BG_TRBL stated , it has never come to that point . Our investigating commitees have taken care of it for us . But I've seen it in another lodge I go to regularly . Myself and most of it's members were blown away when this man was blackballed , because we all knew him and knew what a great guy he was .
