Can you name the 13 Masons who signed the Constitution? I know I couldn't.

Nice! It's amazing to think of how many Founding Fathers were Masons. It really makes you think.

It reminds me that there was a bond between so many of the early Patriots that was, on the one hand, strengthened by their sense of nationalism but, on the other hand, totally transcended it!

I've pondered this since my last post and I have asked myself about other Masons who were important historical fellows. With his sense of equality and honesty I would have expected that Lincoln would have been a Freemason, but I've never read anywhere that he was. Anyone know?

Abe Lincoln did petition his local Lodge. However, this when he was running for president or right before (I cannot remember which). He decided to hold off as he wanted to dedicate his time to the presidency. He was planning on joining after being president.
