Christmas Donations Collected For Soldiers

AUBURN, Maine -- Members of the Ancient Brothers Masonic Lodge on Saturday helped to collect Christmas donations for soldiers. The event was called "Christmas for Troops Wishlist."
People showed up with shampoo, oatmeal, puzzles, toothbrushes and other donations to send overseas.

The donations will be sent to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Organizer Corey Troup from the Ancient Brothers Masonic Lodge said Christmas is a tough time for soldiers who are far away from home, and he hopes the donations will make the holidays a little easier for them.
After the donations were collected, they were taken by truck to Brunswick Naval Air Station. They will then be flown to soldiers overseas and will make it there in time for the holidays.
