Default Bridgeton's Masonic lodge opens doors to public

BRIDGETON - Of all the relics scattered across this historic city, perhaps none is as rare - or safely guarded - as the Olde Brearley Lodge on Bank Street. Built in 1797 by local Freemasons, members of an ancient fraternity that has existed in some form in the Cumberland County area since 1650, the building figures prominently in the city's Colonial era history.
It was the site of the state's first public school.
