Default Holidays

Does your Lodge do anything for the Holidays? Setup a tree, hold a dinner, a dance or anything else?

Our lodge contributes to the local Police Department, who have organized a less fortunate toy drive for local children. The police department asks the local families who need assistance for the holiday to make a list with the names and wishes of their children. Then through donations by local organizations and clubs, the money is used to purchase specific gifts for those who have submitted their lists. Then the officers distribute those gifts in the cruisers on Christmas Eve. I thought it was a great program. I made sure that our lodge contributed when I was master.

Our Lodge co-hosts a Christmas dance. We also sponsor a blanket and clothes drive.

We have done Valentine's Dinners in our lodge, but never anything like that at Christmas time. The O.E.S. and Amaranth normally have a "craft sale" around the holidays with homemade wreaths, ornaments, etc... they use that as a fund raiser for their organizations.
