I got the one I currently wear at an auction put on by my Scottish Rite valley. 14k gold with black onix and looks like it is probably at least a couple decades old. I got it for only $20 because most people had nice rings already.

My ring cost my grandfather his life. It is the greatest ring I could ever hope to get. But I purchased me a bangle.

The best and most special gifts we receive is from our family,I wish I had a father or grandfather that was a mason but I hope to "start" the tradition.

Both grandfathers, by father, and one of my wife's grandfathers is a Mason. I am the only Mason grandchild, regretfully I will inherit tons of Masonic items that I would rather them keep.

I would advise not to get one in till you've been raised as a master mason some older masons don't like people wearing the S&C in there true form in till you've "earned" after your raising.

And I know you said you weren't thanking about joining for another year or so and maybe you'll change your mind people do all the time I don't know why this is the great fraternity known to man. But that just my 2 cents

we understand dues maybe hard to come up with and In special cases they're willing to help with dues.

Some lodges don't have websites or don't keep them up. that should be the number for the secretary if you call him they might meet you at the lodge and give you a small tour.
