I have yet to pick up a copy . I am not a big fan of Dan Brown's novels , only interested because of all the hoopla .

Ok, so I never actually "read" the book. I ended up cheating, buying the audible version (all 18 or so hours of it) and finished listening to it last week. It was interesting. There are some things that have peaked my interest. The type of science the girl was doing and Franklin's Bible.

Overall i thought it was a decent book.

Off topic, I just started listening to Holy Blood, Holy Grail. Interesting so far. The sad part is, and same as Lost Symbol, I am listening at work, so I cannot really take notes.

It has been. My problem is though I would like to research some of these "facts", and since I'm listening to it, and at work, I cannot write notes on what to research. By the time I get home I usually forget what I wanted to research.

Brethren, I just sat the book down after completing it. I got it Friday night, and read it over the weekend. I must say that I find it quite stimulating. It was a good old fashioned thriller. I do not feel that it will be received negatively by our fraternity. Of course, there are always dissenting brothers. That's one of the beauties of our craft. If anything, I feel that it paints us as a noble keeper of certain powerful secrets, waiting for the proper time to be revealed.

Dan Brown is an interesting author, he does take liberties with some things related to the Fraternity but after all "The Lost Symbol" is a work of fiction. I was able to read the book in less than a weekend and I did find it interesting. At least , beings how Mr. Brown is not a Mason, we don't have to worry about him not living up to his obligation. He has made millions on his books and he really hasn't caused FreeMasonry any severe damage. I do have people ask me if the things he writes about are true or not, it gives me a chance to correct some errors.
