Default The Lost Symbol

So , who has went out and bought a copy of Dan Brown's new novel " The Lost Symbol" ?I was going to until I noticed Bentley Little released a new novel and I do love my horror so Bentley won out .

Let me know what everyone thinks and I may go out and pick up a copy .

On a side note , do you think that it will bring in a flood of petitions like it did when the "National Treasure" and the "Da Vinci Code" movies had ?

I am so backed up on my reading, I do not think I need to buy anything for a year. I'm in the middle of this wonderful book. Amazon.com: Let it Rot!: The Gardener's Guide to Composting (Third Edition) (Storey's Down-to-Earth Guides) (9781580170239): Stu Campbell: Books I have about two or three other composting books to go through, a few on Florida gardens, two on lawns in Florida.

Then someone get ranting an raving about Amazon.com: A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1) (9780553381689): George R.R. Martin: Books so I bought that trilogy.

I would like to add The Lost Symbol to my list though.

I'm about a third through the book and so far its all very positive towards masonry. If it goes on like this I see a surge of petitioners, more so when the movie gets made.

Thumbs up

Brethren, I just sat the book down after completing it. I got it Friday night, and read it over the weekend. I must say that I find it quite stimulating. It was a good old fashioned thriller. I do not feel that it will be received negatively by our fraternity. Of course, there are always dissenting brothers. That's one of the beauties of our craft. If anything, I feel that it paints us as a noble keeper of certain powerful secrets, waiting for the proper time to be revealed.

Read it and enjoy it.

I picked up a copy, but only got a chance to read the first chapter. Hopefully this weekend I will get some time.

I've got 3 other books to read, I saw it at a book store last weekend, and contemplated getting it, I suppose after I finish the ones that I already bought, maybe I might get it to read.

Freemasonry may be traced by history and tradition, ...it is only necessary to refer to the information presented to you in a general manner. Information considered "secret" to mason's will NOT be divulged. Seek and ye shall find, Ask and it will be given you, Type and it will be posted (and most likely, answered).

I read it. It was not as good as the DC but all in all OK. The sad thing was that my wife and I were reading it together so I had to stop to explain the mixing of the rituals. If it gets people talking then great.

Very true , I have had a few people who have read it start asking me questions about Freemasonry who never asked before .

What did your wife think about it ? And has she read any other books about Freemasonry , or is she just a D. Brown fan ?

Oh, and by the way drelle , welcome to Freemason Hall . Glad to see you jumping into the conversations .
