| Semper fidelis | I was talking with some of my lodge members about charity , Masonicly speaking . They were telling me that we do have our charities , which I agreed , we do have our charities but I went on to tell them that the giving away of money , food , clothes or what have you to the those in need was not the complete definition of charity (or at least my definition) . I was met with stares and a few nods of the head . One younger , new Master Mason asked me what I meant , I told him that by charity we are to open hearts to all of mankind , to except everyone no matter their race , color , creed , religion or social standing . To never be prejudicial to any man (or woman) , never hold back anyone , but help lift up those who are down , stand up for those who need it , meet all on the level with a smile and open arms and to love one another . *This is my take on it , so indulge me , we all see things differently . So now to the point , this young Mason stared at me for a minute and then said that that was beautiful and he would always remember what I said . It made me feel good . ![]() | I agree, charity is more then giving of a tangible object. It is in the work that we do, helping of others regardless of our needs.
