 |  Masonic Tidbits Not sure if this is for all Lodges, or just Florida. But here is some tidbits for your amusement. Florida Lodges are not to be used "for the sale or dispensing or serving of alcoholic beverages nor conducting thereon of games of chance, lotteries, or any other form of gambling". The exception is wine being used for ceremonial purposes by Allied and Appendant Bodies It is improper for the Worshipful Master to require the Craft to repeat the obligations and oaths with the candidates, or repeat prayers with the Chaplain, during degree work

| The House of the Temple or the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Supreme Council 33 Degree Southern Jurisdiction's headquarters (now that is a mouthful) in Washing DCis home to the largest Masonic library in the United States. It is the oldest library open to the public in the District of Columbia with more then 250,000 volumes. The address 1733 is not the reel street address, but was created with the help of the U.S. Post Office to interject the symbolism of the thirty-three.

| Former Governor of New Hampshire, Joseph A. Gilmore, was made a Mason at sight on April 28, 1863. He received his Scottish Rite degrees quickly and was awarded the thirty-third degree on May 7 of the same year... 9 days total.

| Masonic Mafia  | Wow , I thought one had to have been in the Scottish Rite so many years before they could be awarded the honorary 33rd degree . But it doesn't surprise me , unlike many others who oooh and aaah over them , I am unimpressed with that "honor" because I have noticed that , for the most part , it's who you are and not what you have done that gets you that coveted degree . I remember back when I could count on one hand the 33rd degree SR Masons in my area , now I can throw a rock and hit one .
