Lodge Updating

I was wondering how everyone's Lodges are holding up compared to the newer building codes? Things have been breaking recently in our Lodge, and we have been finding that in order to fix them, we need to bring other stuff up to date. Not sure if it is because of all the building code changes due to the hurricanes we get down here. But we have not kept up to date with all the codes.

We are so far out in the country that we are off the city/county's radar , so it has really never came up .

You are lucky. Sadly, we are even in city limits. More taxes, and more headaches. There is a growing number of members who think we should sell the building and move to a better place.

I like being out in the country . City/County never sticks their nose in our business .

Our lodge needs work too, we have formed a committee/board to deal with building maintenance issues. We have 3 other Lodges that meet in the same building, so hopefully issues can get resolved. Our Lodge building is on the Historic Register, so I hope this will make things easier.
