REI is from what I can gather, more of a hiking/camping then Bass Pro. REI - Gear, Equipment and Clothing for a Lifetime of Outdoor Adventure and Stewardship. The Bass Pro's around here are very boating heavy, not sure if it is the same up there. Their hiking/camping sections are tiny.

The bass pro here has a good many boats, but by no means does it even touch the rest of the store. I am not to sure on the camping equipment though.
