I could not resist. I was going through my graphics for Ashlar and came across these. I am hoping soon to have a photo album setup here, but I had to laugh at these. I know some are not fans of the Goat but please enjoy Brothers.

Jason I think your collection is great.

I never really minded all the goat jokes to the candidate before the initiations, but I have a real problem with the smart ***es and their goat noises during the degree. Way too childish.

I must be lucky, and never heard anyone make a goat noise during work. That would be going a bit far for me. Although I am picking pretty hard on my brother and his boss. They go in this weekend.

I do have a problem with the goat jokes and the members of my lodge knows this and refrains from making them when I am around . I told them that becoming a Freemason is a very serious undertaking and joking , poking , prodding or any other form of hazing/teasing should be left for the college fraternities and the Moose or the Elks .

I normally do not joke about the Goat very much. But my brother has been asking a ton of questions about what is going to happen. So I tried the goat thing with him. Also tried some other ones like he will learn where the moon landing was filmed, or who shot JFK. Oh, and as one conspricist told me, you get $100k for EA, $500K for FC and once raised to MM you get a cool 1 million. Must be something new. Never saw any of that money myself.

I am still debating the answer to the question but maybe after some more studies I could better answer. For me personally, there is a time and place for jokes and while some could come off a little harsh, it depends the person too. Not everyone likes jokes, and not everyone dislikes them either.

At home with someone you know , I can see playing around . My uncle did that with me , but as soon as we entered the lodge all joking stopped . I did that with a close friend here at the house , we live next door to each other , he would ask about a goat and I would tell him that he would find out etc; etc; , but when the day came for his EA degree , I was all business .

In the words of Forrest Gump "The Government must keep that money because I never saw a dime of it " .
