Default Did I make a difference?

This seems to be the biggest question as I dig more into researching just about anything I can get my hands on (or eyes virtually) regrading anything mason, but isn't this the question you should ask yourself daily, not just on a death bed? Maybe that's just the way I see it.

Every night before I go to bed, I ask myself if I helped make the world a better place. Whether it's from an article I wrote for the local paper, or teaching my daughter to be a better person towards those less fortunate. I try. And that's about the best we can do.

I agree with you so much. Here is what I do, I think about being on my deathbed (not in a morbid way) I imagine those last moments and I know I will ask myself and I happy with the life I lived. Am I proud of the person I was, did I make a difference? I think about how I want to feel at the end of this journey and I live every day in accordance to that.

I like to think that I do and that even counts if its in a small way or not. Same thing applies for some of the characters in the series I caught this weekend, The Pillars of the Earth. There are just certain people in life that fully stand out and do in fact, make a difference.

I love it. It sounds simple and doable but we would really make a different if we did it consistently. I like this quote, "when I was born, I cried and the world smiled. When I die, I want that I smile and the world cries."

Great to see how many people are in agreement. It is refreshing to see that people realize how important it is to do good. I personally believe that everyday is an opportunity to touch someone's life for the better.

I like to thank I make a difference but what I do skews a little from what Freemasons would be looking for . I am an animal activist . Not PETA mind you , nor am I a tree hugger , but I donate regularly to animal rescues . Not only money but , food , toys and my time . I am constantly writing my congressman for stricter animal cruelty laws . Right now I am working on an anti-tethering law in KY . This law is in effect in states like Georgia . What the law entails is that it will be against the law to leave your dog on a chain past a certain amount of time , around an hour or two at most , but no dogs should have to live their lives at the end of a chain . Another law I am pushing for is bigger fines for those who leave their dogs in their vehicles when they run into a store to go grocery shopping or what have you . I am also a member of a rescue org. that saves animals from pounds who are due to be put down and we adopt them out .

All my charity (and the difference I make) goes to animal causes , I have to go or make my difference were my heart takes me . And everyday I think the Lord that our little Shih Tzu mix pound rescue is healthy , happy and more importantly ALIVE (she was due to be put to sleep the day after we adopted her) . I am also a Holy terror and a thorn in the side of a local Petland who sells dogs that come from puppy mills , which are brokered through the Hunt Corp.

And it is even the small things also . Every morning the first thing I do is go to the Animal rescue site and click their donation button (ad generator) . For every person that clicks on it , sponsors will donate so many cents to them to help feed and care for dogs and cats in pounds/rescues .

It seems the older I get the more I ask myself this and the more I see others in life without attempting to judge, I think, "no I doubt they did do anything". That seems a little vain and I am working to get out of that bad habit, but still, there seem to be so many people lazy in the world it just drives me mad sometimes.
