Default Shriner's host rodeo

ORILLIA - A Shriner a day may not keep the doctor away, but he will do his best to bring a smile to a sick child's face.
"You see the guys with the funny little hats or funny little cars and think they must be having fun," Tom Woodrow, ambassador emeritus for the Orillia Shrine Club says of the group's colorful community displays. "But they are raising money with a purpose, and fun is part of the game."
Twelve to 15 local children are currently undergoing treatment at some of the 22 Shriner Hospitals for Children in Canada and the U.S.
The Orillia club provides transportation and covers accommodations for children and parents, while contributing toward the operation of the specialized hospitals.
Families pay nothing.
