Is it a good or bad cartoon? It is one of my favorite cartoon and never failed to make me laugh, but I think it's not appropriate for children.

There are many shows that are not appropriate for children and this is a large pet peeve I have with someone I know that when the friends youngest was a toddler had gotten used to watching this show and others like Seinfield. I do not mind the show but I have not really watched it in a few years, work and home life has kept me too busy.

I know it is up to the parents to regulate what their children can and can not watch and it is entirely up to them in how they raise their children and it is all fine and good . I personally would have no problems allowing my children to watch just about anything I watch . I grew up watching horror movies Like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)" , Jaws and the like and shows like "All in the Family" , "Barney Miller" and other shows that were full of adult content and it did not affect me negatively what so ever . I did not understand it at the time so it went completely over my head so I had no idea that it was supposed to be inappropriate anyways .

But then again , I do not treat children like children , I talk to them and treat them like adults .

I do not think the Simpsons is appropriate to watch for kids. I also hate that my ex lets my child watch family guy. These are not allowed in my house nor will ever be in my house, but I can not control what my ex does.

Something like South Park would be out for anything younger then a teenager. Not sure about Simpsons to be honest. Maybe when my children grow older my mind may change though. I've seen some Disney cartoons that has questionable jokes in it though too. In the end though, it is up to the parents.

I agree that South Park and Family Guy should not be watched by kids. As far as the Simpsons there are lots of episodes that I would let my kids watch. The early episodes tended to be much tamer.

Yeah, I agree with that. And don't forget about Tom and Jerry. While it's funny, many people notice that there are many violent scenes involved in the series.

I think it is easy to find something that is inappropriate for children in almost everything on TV and in movies if one wants to look hard enough . It is up to the parents to control what programs they allow their children watch . What I dislike , and disagree with , is people who want to have shows taken off the air because they have found it inappropriate for their children , like back in the late 80's early 90's when that mother wanted "Married with Children" taken off the air . If one finds something offensive or inappropriate , then either change channels or turn off the TV , but do not censor TV for everyone else because one does not like the content of the show .

Actually, there are episodes I have turned off because they offended me in one way or another. I wouldn't let kids watch Family Guy, South Park, King of the Hill, or the Simpsons but that's just me.

Someone else may not have a problem with those at all but I wouldn't want my kids to imitate anything Bart or Homer do.

I am guilty of watching this show a few times. It is definitely a guilty pleasure. I am in agreement that this is definitely not a children's cartoon. It is a shame that a lot of parents let their children watch it.
