Default Fall already?!

Where did the summer go? I feel like it just started and now I wake up and its really chilly outside. I wish summer was longer and winter was shorter. What do you do to keep busy in the fall/winter?

I hate the heat unless I am at the beach so I am glad to see Summer coming to a close . Fall is my favorite time of the year with winter a close second . I can always put on an extra sweater and a pair of long johns to get warmer when I am outside in the Fall/Winter but it seems the authorities frown on myself going naked in the heat of summer . Summer was always a downer because it was too hot on the horses when I wanted to saddle up to go for a ride . I always put my animals needs over my wants and a horse does not need my 230 plus lbs. on it's back with a big western saddle , saddle bags and a thick horse blanket in 90 to 100 degree heat . Fall is perfect for those all day rides we liked to go on , nice and cool for the horse and no sunburns or getting sick from the heat for me . Plus it is beautiful riding through the woods with the trees showing their Autumn colors , with a chill in the air .

There is three reasons as to why I look forward to Fall . I love the cooler weather and the beautiful colors of the leaves , it was time to start our long horse back rides again and Halloween is my favorite holiday .

I love the fall also. Ashlar you live the life I want to some day with all the horse talk! I love going for walks in the fall and sledding and bowling in the winter.

It's the only life I have ever known . Farm raised , country boy through and through . Learned to ride a horse before a bicycle . Broke my first horse when I was 10 , shoed my first horse at 11 or 12 . Though , because of a spinal disease , it is hard for me to ride anymore , I have still hung on to my best saddle(racking) horses .

Also I forgot to add , Fall meant that we would be taking in the crops so , other than turning the gardens under and discing , no more working in the fields until spring . Nothing I hate more than hoeing the rows , spraying insecticides on the tobacco plants and putting up hay in that hot July/August sun .

I love fall time. I love the cooler weather during the day and evening. Sitting by a campfire is just so much better when it's chillier out. We go camping a lot in the fall, we also spend a lot of time outdoors. You don't sweat to death in the fall.

Yeah, I love fall too. It's when the kids go back to school! Everything is a lot quieter in my neighborhood. I like the kids but I'm so glad to see them go back to school.

Ooh no, give me the Summer any time. I know as soon as September arrives that I'm about to become a year older and Christmas isn't far away. I hate wearing lots of clothes so this means that my fuel bills will climb as I spend most of my time indoors on my computer.

Get out there in the cooler weather and enjoy it. Don't hibernate in the house. I love winter too, the snow and ice. We love to ice skate, tube and go sledding. It's just so much fun!

I love the fall and the winter. The air is clear and crisp which makes it clean and refreshing. I have tons of things to do to keep me entertained. I do lots of reading, tv and playing with my friends. Even in the winter we get together at least twice a month for dominoes or bingo.

Very true Brenda_Lee , I do love that wonderful smell of an autumn or winter morning . But I do love the smell of a yard or hay field that is freshly mowed/cut also , but it does not compare to that crisp , clean smell in the air of Autumn/winter .
