Default ea Masons fix up dilapidated cemetery

Frost, vandalism and a lack of funds for daily maintenance has led to the decay of Mosquito Valley Cemetery, a private cemetery that dates to the pre-Civil War era.
Marion McCormick said she knows the cemetery well. She visits family gravesites there every year and has been trying to find someone for more than a decade who can help repair the cemetery's appearance.
Luckily, McCormick solicited the help of William K. Person, who was able to use the cemetery's clean up as an outreach project, done solely on a voluntary basis by members of Masonic Lodge No. 755, 360 Market St.
"We just took it on as a project to straighten it out the best we could," Person said.
Person said the work began before they reached inside the cemetery.
