Val Kilmer may not be the world's best actor to play the role, but I really think he had the look for it. His square jaw really looked the part.

Bring back Val Kilmer!

Heck, bring back Michael Keeton. His portrayal of Bruce Wayne, especially in the scene where he was hosting a [museum?] opening was really twitchy, a guy who had a lot of discomfort around people, social anxiety.
'Course, anybody who spends a fortune to have a secret life going out at night with a skin-tight suit and masked, to take down evil doers is by definition pretty neurotic!
