Not wishing any bad luck on those with turkey fryers, but Green, there are several turkey fryers that burn down garages and/or houses because the turkey fryers were too close to the buildings. This happens every Thanksgiving now.

Sounds like the fault of the users rather than the fryers to me Molly. Give an idiot any bit of kit and he (or she) can manage something unexpected.

Yes, I think so as well. I think there is an abundance of beer and "Holiday Cheer" that leads up to the Thanksgiving conflagration.

I have a small deep fryer. I mostly use it to fry chips, burgers and patties etc. Even chicken pcs. Its not that big so I have it in my kitchen on a separate table.
