The Grand National

Was anyone interested in the Grand National horse race in Britain? I have an English friend I correspond with was terribly excited about it. She also sent me a link to a site that gave all kinds of funny information about the horses called Lucky Dip. As Geminis, my husband and I went with backing a Gemini Horse. We lost, but that's OK, we didn't bet.

Writing from Britain, I can think of nothing more boring!! There are a allot of people here who won't have anything to do with the Grand National due to the number of horses that are injured as a result of the race.

I thought the Grand National was the NASCAR [stock car] series predating the Winston/Sprint/Nextel Cup, that Wendell Scott won, portrayed in the movie, "Greased Lightning."
