Default Shriners Club introduces ‘MAC’ program

he Upper Potomac Shrine Club will showcase its efforts in the community helping children and its expanded headquarters as members welcome Illustrious Potentate Gary Gwynn, Sr. and his officers to Keyser.
“This year, we'll focus on the 'MAC Plan'. 'MAC' stands for Membership, Activate and Communication,” says Gwynn.
“Our aggressive plan has many parts and I look forward to visiting with the clubs and units throughout our organization to explain our goals,” said Gwynn. “Our slogan ‘Activate in 2008’ sums it up: we will focus on getting our existing members active, and attract new members by letting them know about the many exciting activities and events we organize to support the children in our care.”
Since officials last visited the club, members have been busy. The meeting room at their building on Route 46 has been expanded and plans for improving the parking are in the works.
In the community members have worked hard helping others. The club recently received a thank you from the Salvation Army for its participation in the annual holiday kettle drive. The Shriners ringing the bell raised one-tenth of all the funds raised.
