Until recently, four-year-old Keirra Macleod couldn't do things many of us take for granted.
The Belleville girl was born with cerebral palsy, and her symptoms included severe back and leg problems that limited her ability to walk.
But the Belleville Shrine Club and Shriners Hospitals for Children changed that.
Before her many hours of surgery at a Shrine hospital in Montreal, Keirra couldn't sit in certain positions without help. When she walked - with a cane - her heels wouldn't lower to the ground and one leg dragged.
Yet within days of her operation, Keirra could sit easily, cross her legs, and stand without support. Her walking improved dramatically.
