Default Seven-year-old immersed in life, with help from Shriners

Chesterfield resident Beth Kendall calls her 7-year-old daughter, Sydney, "our superstar."

However, Sydney, who will be going into second grade this fall, is much more matter-of-fact about herself.

"When I grow up, I want to be president of my own town, which I'll call Chesterfield," she insists to her parents, Beth and Mike, and brothers Peyton, 5, and Chase, 3 months.Sydney has been helped to be amazing by Shriners Hospital in Frontenac after she lost part of her right arm in a boating accident in May 2007. She has been provided medical and related care, at no cost to her family, by that hospital.
