Default Shriners’ annual Kids Day set at Chautauqua Park Sunday

The Red Fez Shrine Club will host its annual Kids’ Day in Chautauqua Park Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

A 25-cent ticket gives the holder an opportunity to play games and win a prize every time. Children can ride a hay wagon or ride in the Shriner dune buggy. They can also buy a hot dog, bag of popcorn or a snow cone or a beverage.

A cake walk for children and adults will be under the direction of former Pontiac Mayor Dale Campbell.

"We are more about offering entertainment and giving the kids something to do rather than making money," Daryl N. Holt, president of the club, said of the event that has been coming to Pontiac for nearly 15 years.

Games geared to interest children up to 14 will include ping-pong ball toss, three-bucket toss, hoop-toss over pegs, a basketball game and an inflatable house suitable for bouncing, said Holt.
