Lodge: Pearl of the West #146
![]() | When it comes to fishing, there seems to be a bond that forms between those casting and those reeling in the big ones. And when it comes to the Masons brotherhood, a similar connection is made. That's how it all began nearly 50 years ago when a few Masons from lodges in Carnegie traveled to Canada to do a little fishing and for some much-needed R & R. Maybe it was the great number of fish biting in the lakes in Orillia that encouraged conversation among those fishermen during a visit to Ontario so long ago. Or it could have been that at least one in the group wore a badge or some symbol identifying the Masons. Whatever it was, the men quickly became friends. Beaming with Pittsburgh Pride, the South Hills group invited its new friends to drive south to Pennsylvania to meet a few more lodge members from Carnegie. A little sightseeing would be fun, too. Lodge: Lafayette 652 Carnegie PA
![]() | Hello all ! Brother Scott, Lafayette Lodge 652 . We hosted the brothers referenced in the article, along with Centennial Lodge. It was an honor and a blast ! These were some of the finest and funniest gentlemen I have met in ages. As a new Mason, I was glad to have the opportunity to meet and greet with brothers from a distant lodge, and I look forward to visiting Orillia next year!. |
