Its such a good feeling being raised and participate in the sublime degree, I think Every man should have to go through it.

Congrats on being raised. I will have to disagree with you about every man should have to go through it. Freemasonry is not for everyone and that is completely OK. There are also men out there that should not be allowed to join. We need quality men of good rapport. It is up to us to guard the west gate. If we fail in this, then freemasonry just becomes another civic group.

I've participated in the Sublime Degree a number of times and seen all sorts of reactions to it. Some laugh, others are terrified and everything in between. I even saw one guy fall asleep. Each of these men took something different from the degree and not all of them come back to the lodge.

I know the effort it takes to put on the degrees. The officers and especially the Master have to put in many hours of practice and many months of study. This isn't something I would do for just anyone. I do this, as do the other officers in my lodge, for men we hope we will be proud to call "brother".

Congratulations. I play a small part or two in ours. I enjoy it, other then every once in a while the questions I get asked jump around and throw me off. It really messes me up.

I'm junior deacon in my Mother Lodge so the hardest degree for now is the 1st. I also have helped out several other lodges with the third. It seems a guy my size make a good ruffian :)
