An infant injured following Haiti’s massive earthquake will undergo a series of surgeries starting Thursday at Shriners Hospital for Children to correct burns to her face, legs and stomach.

Varina Mole, 2 months, and her mother, Marjorie Clotaire, arrived at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport shortly after midnight Tuesday. The baby was injured five days ago, according to Shriners Hospital officials.
Varina will undergo surgeries to remove burned tissue and to place skin grafts over those injuries, said hospital spokeswoman Louise Hoelker.
