Does anyone have experience using the FMH Calendar? It looks like it might be possible to start new calendars, but I can't find how. Is there a help file for the Calendar? And then: Would I be able to put up a calendar for my Masonic District to notify Lodges, members, and visitors of events? I don't want to clutter up the Default Calendar with local events. S&F
why not use Google Calendars? That way it could be embedded into your Lodge's webpage and people who use Google Calendars can add the Lodge to their calendars.
That's what I do... We are having server issues at the moment, so the lodge web site is under my silly site. Here's the URL directly to the calendar page: Ancient York Lodge - Calendar the lodge url is Ancient York Lodge - Home You just set up the calendar and copy the supplied code into your page. The best part is you can designate any number of people to be calendar admins so you are not solely responsible for maintaining the calendar.
Uh...what is meant by "just set up the calendar and copy the supplied code..."? What do you click, how do you do it?? I am a total calendar novice. I signed into Google and got on Google calendar but it looks like it's a personal calendar. How do I set it up as a group calendar, that other selected people, like the district Lodge Secretaries, could add events to? Can I set it up to let me know when something is added? How do I have it available to the public for viewing (only)? I don't seem to find a help file like I can use, it's one where people pose questions and...sometimes they are answered. Nothing I wanted to find out has an answer. Is there some sort of tutorial, or help file that has answers to questions like mine? I feel like I don't even know what to ask! I had a friend suggest calendars.net, but like this one, I could not figure out how to even get started. S&F
OK, now I've have a calendar started. "10th NC Masonic District Calendar - AF&AM" How do I have people find it? S&F
On the left side of the screen, there is a list of your calendars. next to the Lodge Calendar is a little arrowhead pointing down. Click on that and a menu will come up. Select "Calendar Settings". On the lower half of the screen is "Embed this Calendar" copy the code in the little white box and put it in your web site source code where you want it to appear. If that just read like a foreign language, Contact me privately and I can help. Click on the little down arrow again then "Share this Calendar". Make sure the check box next to "Public Calendar" has a check mark in it. Then add the people's email addresses (that they use on google) that you want to be able to edit the calendar. I don't think so. You did that when you "Shared" it. I think all the rest falls under the "That's what friends are for." category
