I got an email the other day from the Freemason Network pointing me to a pop up model of the House of the Temple. I couldn't resist it as my wife and I are both big pop up book fans. I made several of the Trestle Board pop ups and am thinking of using them as gifts when I visit other lodges. They are very cool. You may need to register on the web site to get to the pdf files of the models, but that's not a bad thing either. Pop-Up Lodge - Freemason Network

Again...I think it is very COOL..... but I can see me doing this and it turning into a swearing contest and me throwing an exacto knife through the wall.....
It's not all that hard. I made five of them in a couple of hours. I used Staples brand 67 lb white paper, an exacto knife and nail file I already had. I bought some Elmers liquid paper glue. I did all the straight cuts first, then lifted the paper and did the freehand cuts. Then I scored the folds (I did them all on the front) and used the nail file to encourage the folds to go the right way. The first one was, of course, the hardest. I want to get some colored heavy paper for the backing next. For now, I'm just using the same white paper I use for the pop up.
I'm actually working on it. I never designed one of these but always loved pop-ups. This is my chance to remember all my geometry and try it out. So far, I have the marble blocks and the pillars they support. Next, I need to get the other six pillars and the roof line. It's very relaxing and better than eating popcorn in front of the TV
