I just found an eight track in my uncles garage. Imagine my surprise when I found out that it still works. What family heirlooms have you found? I am looking forward to helping with mom's aunt to clean her attic.

I've got a lot of dishes and glassware from my Mother and Grandmother. I also have my Grandfather's mantle clock from the early 1800's. My Mother's sister found my Father's great grandmother's blown glass floor lamp, the top of which was destroyed, and converted it for a Christmas present for my mother one year. I still cherish it.

We really do not have much in my family. The wife has a few things, I cannot remember what right now. It would be nice to be able to start a family heirloom though.

Our family heirloom is a wooden block that comes from my grandmothers house, literally, that has a hand painted picture of that same house on it. It's really unique.

I have a quite a few things , but it is not what some would consider worth anything , but to me they are priceless . Well , some of it is worth a pretty penny , but for the most part has sentimental value .

My wife received some jewelry of her grandmother passed down to her after the funeral. She also has a wine and vinegar set that was her great grandmothers.

This may not sound sentimental to you...

A few years ago, I found an old aluminum stove top waffle iron in the basement of my parents' house. I asked my mother, then still living, if I could have it, and she let me take it home.
It is the only artifact I have from my maternal grandparents farm. They were very poor and left little.
I remember eating waffles in my grandmother's kitchen. Both grandparents were gone before I was 8 years old.
I kept it in my camper until last year, when I sold the camper. I made waffles several times at the beach and at black powder shoots.
I made sure I had the waffle iron before I turned the camper over to my nephew.

You know, it's very, very sad when the hot technology of your youth starts being referred to as 'an heirloom'. I think I'll go lie down now.

I have quite a few things from my great great great grandfather. I have his pocket watch(still works!) which has the date August 6, 1884 scratched into it, his model 1866 winchester rifle (haven't had the guts to try that one out yet) and the receipt for the doctor's bill from his son's birth. He payed the doctor with I believe 4 wagon wheels.

I have a few things... including my grandfather's Masonic rings/books/etc, a quilt that my great great grandmother made, and some porcelain pieces that my maternal grandparents made. There's others, but I don't get them until (in my parents' own words) i pry them from my parents cold, dead fingers.
