I just got a call from a desperate Brother asking me to take part in a third degree tomorrow evening. I'm so excited! This is going to be fun. My name will end in an "A" tomorrow night :)

Cool. I've done many of the parts in degree works, including SD, Master, and lecturer. But I get to do a new part next week as well. A brother who has done this part for many years wants to retire. Next Monday, my name will end in "UM"

And after 33 years a Mason, on 5/2, for the first time, my name will end in "A!"

    Now I gotta practice!

We did a whole series of degree training. Every time the candidate was named (no matter who played him) for entrance, oaths, etc, the stand in name was Napoleon Dynamite...he was Initiated, passed and raised. Screw Pedro, Napoleon is an MM!!:D:);):D:);)

The evening went well and I didn't screw up my lines. The Candidate had a big grin on his face during our "interaction". The WM said I sounded like an old pro. My friend told me he wouldn't have asked if he didn't know I could do it and he wasn't disappointed. Now all I need to do is find an apron for the cat.

I am working out of town a couple of days, so I stayed at the nearby MCAS Cherry Point BOQ, and visited a Lodge there in Havelock, NC. They were having a Master Masons Degree at Cherry Point Lodge #688. The usual Brother who did an important part, had to take his wife to the hospital, and they were short...and they asked to to play a part...whose name ended in "-um."
First time on that one and no notice!

The ziti before Lodge was great, but the fellowship was better.

:) hope you practiced at home for that one. It is a great degree, and if you ended in -um, you had a lot to say. Atleast in our district, you would be pretty busy!!!
