The Culpeper Masonic Lodge, Sheriff’s Office, Police Department and local Boy Scouts are teaming up to sponsor a free child identification program on Thursday.
The Virginia Child Identification Program is a brief interview with a child recorded on a CD. Fingerprints and a DNA swab are also taken. All materials are given to parents or guardians when the visit is completed. Local authorities do not keep the data.
The goal is to provide parents with an informational snapshot they can provide to police if their child should go missing.
