Unfortunately, Grand Lodge has come down on us for officers being "out of uniform" in the past. Last summer, the Master gave the members permission to remove their jackets but had to tell the officers to keep them on.We don't go dark. Business as usual.
The only difference is we do away with coat and tie and wear Lodge shirts until September.
Yup same in my Lodge. We don't go dark. Business as usual.

That sounds unreasonable of the GL to dictate that strictly in the summer.Unfortunately, Grand Lodge has come down on us for officers being "out of uniform" in the past. Last summer, the Master gave the members permission to remove their jackets but had to tell the officers to keep them on.
We did get to take off our gloves last night. I didn't care, it was my first time officially sitting as Junior Warden and I didn't screw up The meal I put on was very well received. There were brothers in the lodge room I hadn't seen in two years. A great, if steamy, evening. Having been on Weight Watchers for the past couple of months, I could even button my tux jacket while seated It doesn't get any better. That sounds unreasonable of the GL to dictate that strictly in the summer.
A lodge in Florida can wear gloves if they want to. Citrus Lodge in Inverness does so.We dont wear gloves in Florida. Kinda wish we did. Tradition is somewhat lost here.
They are the only ones Ive seen that do it. I presumed they were an anomoly. LolA lodge in Florida can wear gloves if they want to. Citrus Lodge in Inverness does so.
