Grand Master's son

On Saturday, August 2, the Nebraska Grand Lodge Officers raised Whitley McBride, son of MWGM Joe McBride, to the sublime degree of a Master Mason during an outdoor degree. MW Joe and his dad Mort were understandably emotional. MW Joe conferred both sections of the degree, I was honored to be asked to do the part of JS in the first section and the first craftsman during the second section. There were 3 PGMs, 3 Past Potentates as well as 30 or so Master Masons in attendance. Prior to the opening we witnessed a low level flyover (right over our heads) by a couple of fighter jets. After the degree, MW Joe invited us to his home where his wife, Lori, had prepared a wonderful feast of (as Joe put it) dead cow and dead pig. I really enjoyed seeing 3 generations of Masons from the same family in one place. All in all it was a great day.

That sounds like a great time. It's good to be able to spend some time with your Grand Master and know that no matter his title, duties and responsibilities, he is still your brother.
