I attended my first Masonic meeting this evening in the sunny state of Florida. It was the Annual District Meeting of the 20th and 21st Masonic Districts. Honoring the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Free & Accepted Masons of Florida, M:.W:. Jim J. Harris. The evening began with a splendid dinner at the Florida Masonic Home, a wonderful facility that makes me proud to be a Freemason! Welcome to The Masonic Home of Florida While I had emailed a few Brothers prior, I didn't actually "know" anyone and looked rather lost when I arrived. A nearby Brother noticed my distress and immediately set to making me feel more than wonderfully welcome. Worshipful Brother Patrick Barrett, the Zone 7 Chairman for Masonic Youth Activities, took me in hand and introduced me to so many Brothers that I will never remember a tenth of the names! LOL After dinner we all went to St. Petersburg Lodge #139. Untitled Page Again, W. Brother Patrick took me on a tour of the Temple and introduced me to anyone who would stand still for 5 seconds! I cannot say enough things about how wonderful he was in making me feel welcome. After an excellent meeting with some humor involved (will the real Terry Parker stand up please?) it was on to more socializing and meeting many many many wonderful Brothers who have made me feel more than welcome here in Florida. Something tells me I am going to have a good time here.
Welcome home Brother! I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself! Hopefully you and I can connect for some masonic Education in October (or sooner!)...
