Hello Brothers, My name is Donald Lutken. I was raised at Circle Lodge in Madison, MS about 8 years ago. Due to a personal firestorm I moved to Houston, TX about 3 years ago and haven't been to Lodge since then. Ashamedly, I'm not even sure I could pass questioning to enter a different Lodge but can someone tell me where there is one in Houston zip code 77056 (Galleria area). I live in Tanglewood subdivision. I love the site. Thank you all.
Welcome back from your hiatus. http://www.google.com/search?source...=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=f4cb147617b5f0ff
Looks like the closest to you may be the one in Bellaire. Here is a link to their website: Bellaire Lodge #1336 AF&AM 2007-2008 Home Page Or you can search through for yourself on the Grand Lodge website, lodge locator for TX : http://www.grandlodgeoftexas.org/lodgelocator?act=list&type=city
You would then also need to determine whether you can maintain a dual membership between TX and MS, and if you want to, as you would still be on the roles in MS. Unless you have been paying your dues since you left to TX though, you are probably suspended for non-payment. This can usually be waved, at least in Vermont, by paying 2 years worth of dues, then ask for a demit from your home lodge in MS in order to join the one in TX. Let us know how you make out. The brotheren in whichever lodge you choose to approach would, I am sure, be willing to help you figure it all out as well. I do miss Houston, and when I get a chance to go back for a visit, I will be looking forward to attending a lodge, I hope, while I am down there!
Welcome, we look forward to your participation. Keep us informed of your progress with contacting and joining a lodge in your area.
Welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy your stay with us. Good luck in finding a lodge close enough, also in your further pursuit of continuing in Masonry.
Brother Donald- I only attended a few times after Raising, then life, kids, work, moving, school [I'm a late bloomer] kept me out of lodge until we moved to North Carolina. The first time I came to the lodge building I remembered absolutely NOTHING, but the brethren looked at my dues card and talked with me for a while and finally vouched me in. It's never too late: 28 years later...tomorrow I will become a District Deputy Grand Lecturer. S&F
