CARTHAGE, Mo. — An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It’s an old saying the guys at Carthage Masonic Lodge hope the community will take to heart on Saturday, when they host their annual MOCHIP program. The program will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 820 Howard St. MoCHIP stands for Missouri Child Identification Program — something that Mason David Jones wants everyone to be a part of but hopes no one will ever have to use. “We hope that parents take this packet home, put it in a safe place and never have to get it out,” Jones said. MoCHIP is a comprehensive child identification and protection program designed to provide families a proactive means of preparation should their child or teen become missing. Every parent who brings his or her child to Saturday’s event will walk away with a complete packet containing digital fingerprints, digital photos, emergency identification information and a dental impression containing scent and DNA evidence. more Masonic lodge holding child ID program - Carthage, MO - Carthage Press
