While most people will be spending the next few Saturdays bustling around town finishing Christmas shopping, Gary Holland and other Masons will be collecting donations to make Christmas special for families in need.

After the Harlem Christmas parade on Saturday, Holland and the other Men of Harlem -- members of the John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge -- will be at the light at North Louisville Street at Milledge Road accepting monetary donations.

Just got a notice at our last stating meeting that the PA Masons raised $100,000 + this year for the "change for the troops program" It buys calling cards for troops to help them afford calling home to their love ones. It is a great program!

That is fantastic, we need more initiative from the general public for programs like this.

JV, I was aware that the fundraiser was doing quite well, in our location we have even extended it to chapter and commandry as well. We mention it toward the end of the meeting and put a hat at the junior decon's station for donations on their way out. It may not accrue large numbers at one time, but continuing it adds up.
