Hi guys, Sorry for being away for long time. Its not just this community, in general my Real Life problems have been humping me like a bunch of rabbits on Ritalin. I'm ashamed that I've been barely at the lodge in many months. Which is really sad, 'cause this is my first year (raised last june). Anyway since its a Memorial Day and all, i wanted to share one of the stories that was provided to us from our lodge historian. I'm sure some of you might be familiar with it, but in case somebody is not - it's worth sharing even for 1 person. It's a story of Four Immortal Chaplains, I've just formatted it for our website and posted it on behalf of our Historian. This story tells of time During World War II, four chaplains of different faiths gave their life jackets to soldiers from the torpedoed troop ship, S.S. Dorchester, and in doing so, knowingly sacrificed their own lives. One of them Lt. George L. Fox was our Brother. I don't want to repost the whole article here, 'cause there are pictures and formatting etc... I'll just give a link to our website section where its located. Four Immortal Chaplains story: http://www.mosaiclodge.org/mosaics-historians-desk/48-masonic-history/96-patriotism.html I hope you guys don't mind reading it off site. It's a wonderful story, simple yet breathtaking. Hope you enjoy it as much as i did. Happy Holiday all.
If you join the Scottish Rite you will be able to experience the Degree that tells the story of the Four Chaplains. It is a very moving Degree when done correctly and one of my favorites.
