It was 15-year-old Cheyenne Carrell who was always expected to be the third generation in her family to enter The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, but it didn't come easy.
"She said she wasn't going to join at first," said Lori Carrell, Cheyenne's mother. "I told her to at least give it six months and now it's been three years and she loves it."
Rainbow Girls is a nonprofit youth service organization for girls that was founded in 1922.
Cheyenne, a sophomore at El Diamante High School, became the third generation in her family to become a Worthy Advisor with Visalia Assembly No. 55 of the Rainbow Girls when she was installed in October 2011.
