A brother finds himself in this position and has asked for my help. What happens when a Brother is accused of a serious crime? Is he suspended until the trial determines his innocence or guilt? Does he remain a Mason until convicted? Is it on a case by case basis?
I know the Grand Master expels several men from Masonry each year because they had been convicted of crimes and/or Masonic offences. This situation is touchy as the Brother was accused by somebody who was arrested and owns him money. The brother swears he is innocent and being "thrown under the bus" by the real criminal.
