The circus is in town at the Marion County Fairgrounds. The 9th annual Shriners Circus in Salem drew a fantastic crowd. Hundreds in attendance both young and old watched in awe as performers took part in death-defying acts. Tigers jumped through hoops of fire and acrobats flew through the air. Chief Rabban of the Ainad Shriners and General Circus Chairman, Larry Carril, says the circus is the biggest fundraiser for the upkeep of the Shriner Ainad Temple in East Louis and has been thrilled with Salem's response. Carril says "Tonight has been an excellent turnout. This is our 9th peformance this week. For a Thursday night here in Salem, I think we set a record on attendance." more WJBD Radio
