So, tomorrow is the Feast Day of St. John the Baptist. Our lodge is doing........ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. This is disappointing to me, and next year, as Master, it is an event I'd like to ad to the schedule. We are dark, so it would be a special event. Anything going on out there to celebrate St. John's Day?
Nope! And if we were, I couldn't attend as I have a wedding ceremony rehearsal 1-1/2hr north of here.. http://masonictraveler.blogspot.com/2006/06/saint-john-baptist-day-duality-in-one.html
Bro Russ, (getting off subject already, but my threads are always open to deviants!) on a sidenote, do you do the MN Ren Faire??
Mike on the 30th my Lodge is hosting a special for the purpose of St. John the Baptist Day. We have a PM who moved to DC who comes back every year for it. When our SW takes the East (in November for the third time) he also wants to do a SJ the Evangelist feast in Ded. Since I believe this'll be during his Holy week it will involve potato latkes {sp}. 7 course meal... however since it's in the Dinner Hall of our consecrated Lodge it'll be dry. A few lodges around here own part of a golf club and use it to have a wet Table lodge
If you are lamenting that your Lodge is doing nothing, do a little research this evening and get some Brothers together for your own Feast of St. John.
Our lodge won't be doing anything for it, but tonight, at The Dallas Scottish Rite Cathedral, there is a military style table lodge, with proceeds going to the Scottish Rite Hospital. I wish I could go, but I'm a little broke. BUT, a buddy of mine is to be installed as Master of his lodge tomorrow, and I'm sure there will be a little bit of talk about St. John's Day.
I have been there twice, I know Alice the Cook. I attend Bristol regularly. Aka Duncan in the year 1574.
