OK Brothers..... I have recently got a new suit and was wonder what color shirts would look good with it...the suit is charcoal color..... I know white will go with it. I want to look modern without looking like a 42 y/o/ man trying to look 25.....

fireman, if Bro. Bob's idea doesn't work, take the suit jacket and go to a men's clothing store and check out their selection of shirts. They have people working there who are well versed in the are of matching shirts (and ties) with suit coats. I usually try to get a lady employee to help me -- makes the whole time much more enjoyable.
Charcoal , you would want soft pastel colored shirts with a somewhat darker pastel tie to really set it off . A nice pink or lavender would look great under a Charcoal suit . They do not have to be pink or lavender (just throwing them out there as I have one of each ) , but soft colors would look best .
I am going to vote for the Euro trash look. Go with the black turtleneck. JUST KIDDING. Soft colors work best with charcoal. That's what my wife said. How did I EVER get dressed without her?!?
French Blue also works well with a charcoal jacket. Strong colors, light colors, charcoal looks great - just stay away from greens. Unless you like them.
I will ask the better half....and usually have a female sales person help when shopping alone.... I just wanted some good working ideas, those sale people like to over load ya with info...... For the last 10 years, my dress up attire has been a navy blue dress uniform and white shirt.....

For my stepson's wedding in December, my wife picked up a pink shirt with white collar and white french cuffs (so i could show off my S&C cuff links) with a wine colored tie and matching pocket square. Way better than the white shirt and blue tie I had set aside to wear.
I have a nice white shirt.....but would like to look somewhat stylish without looking like I am going through a midlife crisis.....but I also dont want to look like I am at a funeral too.... whats everyones thoughts on shoes....I like wingtips....thinking a good pair of rockports...gotta get something comfortable
Remember that you will spend a fair amount of time on your feet in Lodge, so Rockports are a good choice. How about a pale gray shirt?
LOL , I think I just woke my wife up laughing !!!!! I should have seen that one coming . I think I need to drink some beer , do some belching , go out and change the oil in my truck , fire my shotguns into the air , watch some NASCAR and scratch myself to gain some "Dude" points back .
