Any suggestions for a good masonic toast? I am the JW elect and dont know if I will be called on for a toast so I want to be prepared... I am open for suggestions.....
To what... Any traditions??? we have a special format for our table lodge toasting... don't know if it would help.
We have a set format but at the end we can offer up additional toasts..... just wondering if anyone knew a cool general good wishes masonic toast...:4-cheers:
Well, you could do some research on what the trowel is used for and I'm sure that you will find some cement to build with. Think Brotherly love. The best toasts aren't what others tell you to say, but rather what you come up with yourself. The trowel is especially appropriate at this time of year, so come up with something to do with unity, trowel, cement, and Brotherly love.
TRUE!!!!..... I kinda had something along those lines in mind but was looking for an way to end it besides "cheers".....
What is YOUR heritage? English, German, Scotsman, Asian, African? Take who you are personally, your heritage, your vocation, and the Trowel's deeper meanings, shake with some lime and serve over ice. :1-wink-grin:
I saw several toasters on a PBS program recently, some quite old, but none made Masonic Toast, unfortunately! You're on your own. [a little bit distant from] S&F
I only meant to make a cheeky comment, not derail the whole thread. Coming from an Emulation Lodge, we have a Festive Board after every meeting. This includes several required toasts and concludes with the Tyler's Toast. Any Brother is also welcome to add an appropriate toast during the Festive Board. Keeping in mind the admonishment not to remain overly late or to imbibe too much. Here are some examples of Toasts like we use: Toasts for the Festive Board
As long as the derailment is all in good fun and in the spirit of friendship , then it does not matter (because there is always a joker in the bunch no matter where you are) . It is those posts that derail a thread with the intent to bring on hate and discontent that we will put a stop too .
one toast heard in my Lodge quite often, especially after the Fellow Craft degree is conferred is: "To the Greeks and not the Romans!".
