If you are a Traveling Man?Or any other general question other masons may ask if they notice a ring or shirt etc?I am recently raised 7/11/11 actually!!
Congrats! Mine is usally just a yes, what Lodge under what GL do you belong to???? It helps if you know the name of neighboring Lodges when doing this.
I won't give any of my various responses here since most of those questions and their responses are used to tell a Brother in the Dark as well as in the Light.
I agree with Winter but in general, my answer is a trail for the man asking me the question. He knows I am a Mason and his response confirms he is a Mason to me. I was once asked if I was a travelling man by an Amtrack ticket agent. That flummoxed me for a few seconds. My thoughts went, "Of course I'm travelling, I'm buying a ticket from him... Oh, that's not what he was asking."
Yeah my first time threw me off too. I was working as a teller in a bank and had a tie-tack on with the S&C's. I like to mess with people and ask about their grandmother! It gets a better reaction and then they really want to talk with me and pick my brain... not much to pick but hey, What's a little grey matter between Brothers!
When first raised I had a ring and was asked if I traveled some? Not understanding the question I replied a lot! My family and I went back and forth to CA. and TX. Boy did I get a funny look.
