Dang dog !

The wife had me take our little rescue dog to the groomers for a spa day . So i take her and when I pick her up , they tell me I need to take a look at her ears , so I do , and lo and behold she has an ear infection (great catch on their part because I grew a little lax in checking their ears as often as I should should) .

So on the way home I have to pop in the vet to get her ears checked out , and not only does she have an ear infection , but an upper respiratory infection . What was going to be a $28 dollar wash and trim , turned into dropping $100 bill yesterday .

What we do for our pets !

I 'beloved' younger cat decided that he would launch himself from my left eye and my wife's right cheek. She has scratches, I have a laceration of my eye. $25 co-pay at the MD, then $58 co-pay at the pharmacy for antibiotic eye drops.

Our 14 year old Cocker Spaniel has had a growth on her side for the last year, steadily growing, until it was about as big as a nerf football. Vet decided that it was time we had to do something. Either put her down ($100) or major surgery ($600). We decided to put her down (with my wife bawling). Mother in law, bless her heart, would have nothing to do with that decision and VETO'd it. I knew mother-in-laws held special powers, but didn't know until now that they actually carried a Veto stamp. Good news is, she also wrote the check! God bless her.

If the veto stamp comes with a checkbook, you're all good.

Oh, yeah, she's old enough to stay by herself. As long as you're old enough to deal with the damage caused by an unhappy and lonesome dog.

Fireman , you could always kennel her for a few days . My vet has a kennel service , they take each dog kenneled out to play several times a day , feed and water of course and will even groom them too (costs extra , but you come home to a fine smelling werewolf ) . If it is just two or three day trip that just may be your ticket .

Rosie, my 12 pound miniature Dachshund is like that.
There were two 75 or 80 pound huskies who lived in the fenced patio of an apartment near where my daughter used to live. Rosie was always straining at the leash to get at them and always told them a thing or two!

Wow, 400 posts! I'll probably be running out of words soon.

Had one or three minatures like that.

Bob, as for running out of words, you can re-sue some of them over and over... :D

Werewolf sitter taken care of..... I did look into the kennel thing....friends from church are gonna take care of here....

She could use a visit to the groomers...but I hate to cut her hair right now...its 12 degrees....maybe we will do it after the get away....
