Well, you know...printed words are often interpreted differently than when spoken. My intention wasn't to scold or cause discord. I meant to offer protection and council for a worthy Brother.

Bro. Russ knows that, but I didn't intend to come off as a pompass arse. :D

Learning parts

I for one, learn better in the mouth-to-ear format.
We have a coded ritual (the "OSW"), a supplement book with the written work (the "Bahnson Manual"), and another book of other work ("NC Masonic Ceremonies").
I am currently finishing up learning the Funeral out of the "Ceremonies" book, and I am having more trouble with it than with any of the lectures.

I guess I'm just not very bright!

No scolding felt nor discord caused, I agree with Bro. Patrick, we had a good discussion about a difference among the jursdictions and
our wishes for a one world order of Freemasons hell-bent on domination of all of mankind!
(oops, outside voice):D

Brother Gary , it seems I have several cable tows and many different people/bodies have hold of each end and are pulling me in different directions . They expect me to be a ritual sponge because of all the ritual I have put to memory in the Blue Lodge and I should automatically be able to put all this other ritual to memory .

A wise Mason once told me that the most important word to memorize is the word NO.

Your situation is a prime example of the need to use that word. Just because you've worked hard and memorized a lot of ritual in the Blue Lodge, doesn't mean that other bodies should expect you to have to do the same. That to me, seems like they are taking advantage of your zeal and good nature.

Sure, it starts off fun...but it's apparent that it very easily takes it's toll when you bite off more than you can chew. I would imagine that it is stress that is causing your problems with memorizing the parts, not a full brain. I feel for you my Brother. I hope all works out well for you.

I had a sit down last night with my Chapters long time Past Worthy Patron (18 years) and talked through all this . He said to take my time , I have secured another Past WP to do the work for me while I continue my studies . My Chapter is fresh out of Brothers who can or are willing to put this to memory so the torch HAS to be passed on to younger Brothers , and I am the youngest Brother .

You are correct , it is the pressure , and now that the pressure is off , all of this should start falling into place eventually .
